Why this exists

Every drilling software platform in the world is built for the operator. The contractor's problems are different — fleet utilisation, crew performance, equipment failure, rig moves, day-rate and lost-time disputes, certification that expires and stops a rig. Nobody builds for that side, because contractors are not large enough buyers for the majors.

DrillX is built from the contractor's side of the contract, by people who have run rigs, on rigs that are running.

The position

SLB, Halliburton, NOV and Baker Hughes all sell drilling services. When a contractor hands them rig performance data, it goes to a company that bids against them or against their client. We do not sell mud logging, directional or fluids. That is not a marketing line — it is the reason the data can be trusted with us.

What we will not do

• We do not perform safety-critical engineering calculation. Casing design, trajectory, anti-collision and kick tolerance come from validated tools with an engineer's name on them. We assemble, check, draw and control the record around them.
• We do not invent numbers. Blank is an acceptable answer in this business. A guess is not.
• We do not train on client data or use one client's record to serve another.
